As the field of education continuously embraces technological innovations, we will focus on exploring the innovative applications of artificial intelligence in modern educational practices. Firstly, we will look into the use of AI technologies and emerging concepts such as AR, VR, and the Metaverse in the context of teaching, to better understand the current development of this industry. We will explore how these existing technologies can create immersive learning environments, thereby creating enriching and diverse teaching experiences.
Secondly, we will zoom in the innovative applications of technologies in specific academic areas, such as language learning. We will delve deep into how AI can transcend the constraints of time and space, inspire language pedagogy, and foster highly interactive and personalized learning experiences, opening up possibilities for bilingual and multilingual education.

Minjuan Wang is a tenured professor at San Diego State University, USA, in the Learning Design and Technology Department, and a visiting scholar at The Education University of Hong Kong. She is the editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transac- tions on Learning Technologies and an associate editor of Nature-HSSC. Wang earned her Bachelor,s degree from Peking University, a Master,s in Comparative Literature from Pennsylvania State University, and a Ph.D. in Information Science and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri.
Her research interests include educational Metaverses, extended reality, and AI applications in education. Recognized as a leading figure in blended and mobile learning, she has delivered over 45 keynote speeches internationally and published more than 120 articles. Wang’s global teaching efforts focus on innovation and practicality, aligning with current and future professional trends. Fluent in Chinese and English, she is known for her broad cultural understanding, dynamic thought, and significant contributions to teaching and research. Her motivational books have inspired young individuals worldwide.

Peng Kaiping graduated from the Department of Psychology of Peking University in 1983 and stayed on to teach. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1997 and taught at the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been a tenured faculty member in psychology and East Asian studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and has served as the director of the Social and Personality Psychology program at the University of California and a member of the Scientifc Leadership Council of the American Psychological Association. Since May 2008, he has been employed as a professor and the first head of the Department of Psychology of Tsinghua University.

Dr. Xuan Zhao is the CEO and co-founder of Flourish Science, a science-based, AI-powered mental wellness startup incubated at Stanford University. Before joining Stanford, Xuan earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Brown University and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Dr. Shouyan Wang is the Vice Dean of the Institute for Brain-Inspired Intelligence Science and Technology at Fudan University, the Chairman of the Basic and Translational Neuroregulation Subcommittee of the Chinese Neuroscience Society, the Chairman of the Neuroregulation Subcommittee of the Shanghai Neuroscience Society, a member of the Brain-Machine Integration Committee of the AI Society, and the Vice President of the Brain-Computer Interface Industry Alliance. He has long been engaged in research on deep brain stimulation neuromodulation, neural information processing, and modeling. His work in encoding deep neural activities in the human brain and multi-sensory intelligent neuroregulation technology has contributed to the development of precise and intelligent neuromodulation theories and technologies. In recent years, he has been promoting the establishment and development of the Fudan Digital Health Platform and actively exploring practical applications and research in neuromodulation and mental health.

自19世纪末以来,全球平均温度上升了约1摄氏度,人类的集体活动已然改变地球上的生态系统,并且已经到了危及自身生存的地步。我们必须学会在地球上以可持续的方式共生共处,教育也必须作出改变,可持续发展教育便应运而生。可持续发展教育是一个终身学习的过程,教育者需要重新思考学习的内容、地点和方式。本次论坛旨在与教育实践者共同讨论可持续发展在教学实践中的重要性,将可持续性问题融入各类学习之中。通过多种教学法及科技辅助教育,增强学习者的权能,使之能够肩负起对今世后代的责任,并为社会变革作出积极贡献,最终让实现可持续发展目标、建设更加可持续的世界成为可能。
The global average temperature has risen by about 1 degree since the late 19th century, and humanity's collective activities have altered the ecosystems of the planet to the point of endangering its own survival. We must learn to live together sustainably on Earth. Education must change, and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) has emerged. ESD is a lifelong learning process. Educators need to rethink what, where and how the learners learn. Therefore, as an educator, I hope that through this panel, the audience will realize that we need to act now and proactively to integrate sustainability issues into all kinds of learning in order to survive. Through a variety of pedagogies and technology-assisted education, learners are empowered to shoulder their responsibilities to present and future generations and to contribute positively to social change, ultimately making it possible to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and build a more sustainable world.

Qiqi Feng is a sustainability and environment projects planner who studied at the Australian National University and Keio University in Japan. While in school, Feng Qiqi launched a game-based climate education project and established a global sustainable development consulting company called Enviroally. As a youth representative, she participated in the 17th United Nations Youth Climate Conference (COY17), the 27th United Nations Climate Conference (COP27), and the 28th United Nations Climate Conference (COP28).

Nancy graduated from East China University of Science and Technology with a master's degree in Social Work. In 2016, she became a volunteer at Green Light-Year. In March 2019, she officially joined the organization. She has 5 years of experience in project and team management. Her expertise lies in designing project-based learning courses around sustainable development goals for students and young teachers. Additionally, Nancy specializes in developing training toolkits for community residents to promote community self-governance. Nancy has led 10 young teachers and over 60 students to complete 31 projects, winning several city-level awards.

In today's digital age, media plays a crucial role in shaping our learning experiences and daily life. While the omnipresence of social media and electronic devices facilitates communication, challenges like internet addiction and privacy concerns arise.
Our panel responds to these challenges through an online discussion and a workshop, blending media literacy education theory with practical strategies tailored for Chinese children, parents, and teachers. The panel will address key issues like combating game addiction, the impact of social media on mental health, guidance for media use in families and schools, and cross-cultural media education strategies. We'll bring together experts from China and internationally to provide diverse insights.
The subsequent workshop will focus on providing caregivers and teachers with practical tools developed from the latest research in psychology, media science, and pedagogy. By enhancing media literacy among adults, we aim to empower them in guiding Chinese youth through the complexities of the digital world safely, critically, and wisely.

祁雪晶曾于北京师范大学党委宣传部(新闻中心)历任校报副主编、北京师范大学融媒体中心主任。2016年6月至今,她历任北京师范大学学生工作办公室主任、党委副书记。在光明日报、中国教育报等主流媒体采写了120余篇新闻作品,并发表多篇科研文章与成果,如《2022年青少年网络素养现状》、《互联网平台未成年人保护的规范路径探析》等。她的研究方向为教育新媒体、青少年网络素养、网络思想政治教育、影视文化传播。
Xuejing Qi served as the deputy editor-in-chief of the school newspaper in the Publicity Office of the CPC Beijing Normal University (News Center) and the director of Beijing Normal University's Integrated Media Center. Since June 2016, she has served as director of Beijing Normal University's Student Affairs Office and deputy secretary of the CPC Committee. She has written over 120 news articles in mainstream media such as Guangming Daily and China Education News, and published numerous research articles including The Internet Literacy of Adolescents (2022) and Analysis on the Normative Path of Minors' Protection on Internet Platforms (2022). Her research interests include new media in education, youth network literacy, network ideological and political education, and film and television cultural communication.

Jinhua is a member of the underage protection system at Tencent and a senior product manager of Tencent Growth Guard. Tencent Growth Guard is committed to the protection of minors. She received her master’s degree from the University of Hong Kong and is experienced in Internet product management. She is now responsible for the product operation of the Growth Guard applet and the product planning of the Tencent Future Classroom applet. In addition to strictly enforcing the new national anti-Internet-addiction regulations and proactively building an anti-addiction technology network, Tencent Growth Guard provides parents with game management tools and children with self-management tools. Tencent Growth Guard helps users cultivate healthy gaming habits and facilitates parent-child communication, encouraging caregivers to invest more time in accompanying young people along their journey.

Betsy Bozdech is the Editorial Director and the Head of Ratings & Reviews at Common Sense Media, a leading American non-profit that provides entertainment and technology recommendations for families. Betsy’s experiences working in online parenting and entertainment content were the perfect preparation for her role as Common Sense’s editorial director. After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 1997, she began her editorial career at BabyCenter.com and then served as an editor at Reel.com, Emode.com, and AOL’s Digital City before working as the site content manager at Netflix for three years—and then joining Common Sense Media in 2006.

Shanna Kohn is the Director of International Education at Sesame Workshop. She leads educational content development for Sesame Workshop’s programs in response to conflict and crisis, including Ahlan Simsim, an Arabic-language version of Sesame Street in the Middle East, and Welcome Sesame, which includes programming in Ukraine. The Workshop’s two large-scale humanitarian programs, generously funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the LEGO Foundation, deliver early learning and nurturing care to children and caregivers affected by the Syrian and Rohingya refugee crises and comprise the largest early childhood intervention in the history of humanitarian response.
Prior to working on humanitarian programs, Kohn managed curriculum, content, and program design in collaboration with on-the-ground partners for global programs focused on a variety of outcomes—including shifting parents’ perceptions and capacity around meaningful play, improving global health outcomes, and promoting a whole-child curriculum—in Jordan, Lebanon, the Kurdish Region of Iraq, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, South Africa, and Mexico.

Kristen Sandmeier is the Senior Coordinator of International Education at Sesame Workshop. In her role, she leads logistical processes for the International Education team and supports multiple projects under Welcome Sesame, a Sesame Workshop initiative to deliver early learning and nurturing care to young children and caregivers affected by crises around the world. Currently, she is supporting innovative ECD programs in Colombia, Ecuador, Uganda, and Ukraine.
Prior to joining Sesame Workshop, Kristen worked at numerous non-profit and philanthropic organizations, such as the Ford Foundation and the ALS Association, Greater NY Chapter. Kristen holds an M.A. in European and Mediterranean Studies from New York University and a B.A. in International Relations from Manhattan College.

科技与教育公平 | Education Equity in the Age of AI
联合国教科文组织提出的2030可持续发展议程目标4(SDG4)中,“确保为每一个人提供包容、公平的优质教育和终身学习机会”,为全球教育发展指明了方向。教育公平指每个社会成员都享有同等的教育权利与教育机会,享有同等的教育资源、教育质量、就业机会等,教育公平是人类社会的共同追求,也是社会公平的基础。
随着科技的高速发展,在教育领域发挥着越来越重要的作用,科技带来了新的教学方式和工具,拓展了教学的空间和时间,提升了教学效率和教学体验,为教育公平带来了新机遇。
本论坛期望激发观众对科技与教育公平的深入思考,通过集结社会各界力量,关注低资源社区、乡村地区和认知障碍等少数群体,使更广泛的群体享受科技带来的教育机会,让更多孩子享有优质平等的教育。
The 2030 UNESCO Sustainable Development Agenda's Goal 4 (SDG4) articulates a visionary mission: "ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all." This goal serves as a compass guiding global educational advancement.
The realms of technology and educational equity share an intricate relationship. With the rapid evolution of technology, it has revolutionized the global education landscape and opened new avenues for promoting education equity. Education equity serves as the cornerstone of social justice. Addressing the challenge of providing equal educational opportunities to underserved regions or groups, judiciously allocating high-quality educational resources, and constructing a well-balanced and superior education system are critical issues demanding immediate attention.
At the heart of this panel lies the fundamental objective of facilitating a symbiotic relationship between technology and educational equity. We hope to invite and engage with governmental bodies, businesses, non-profit organizations, schools, and other stakeholders from across society to collaboratively explore effective practices in leveraging technology to promote education equity. In the future, we hope that all students can enjoy the educational opportunities brought by technology, allowing more children to have access to high-quality and equal education.

陈学锋是联合国儿童基金会驻华办事处儿童早期发展与教育专家,北京师范大学教育与发展心理学博士,曾任中国儿童中心副主任。陈学锋于 2004 年加入联合国儿童基金会(UNICEF),负责过多个 UNICEF 与中国政府在儿童早期发展和教育方面的合作项目、儿童保护体系与网络项目、灾后社会心理支持项目等。她多年参与学前教育政策的研究与开发,目前工作集中于参与国家儿童早期发展的政策研究、调查学前教育教师培训系统的发展策略、探索家庭-学校-社会合作机制等。
Dr. Chen Xuefeng is the educational specialist for Early Childhood Development (ECD) at UNICEF. She obtained her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology and Education at Beijing Normal University and served as the Research Fellow and Deputy Director General of China National Children Center (CNCC) (1989-2003). She joined UNICEF in 2004 and has been an educational officer and child protection specialist (2007-2008). Her work involves investigating and researching issues related to children's rights, policy formulation, personnel training, as well as planning and evaluating pilot and innovative projects. She has been responsible for multiple cooperation projects between UNICEF and the Chinese government in the areas of child early development and education, as well as child protection systems and networks, post-disaster psychosocial support, and more. She has also been involved in the research and development of Chinese preschool education policies for many years and coordinated the development of China national Early Learning and Development Guidelines for the Children aged 3-6 and other professional standards. Her current work focuses on research in child early development, development of preschool teacher training systems, and exploring the collaboration opportunities between families, schools, and communities.

She is a recipient of the China Charity Award, the highest government award for charity in China, and has been awarded China's Charity Person of the Year and China's Honorary Charity Ambassador. Dongrun Foundation was registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs in 2015, and was awarded the national 5A grade foundation in 2023. The project "Dongrun Special Fund for Medical Care and Children's Education in the Epidemic" won the 11th "China Charity Award".

Bicheng Han is the founder and CEO of BrainCo. He is dedicated to the research and application using the technology of non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI). Bicheng founded BrainCo in 2015, while he was pursuing his PhD degree at Harvard Center for Brain Science. The company has now grown into a world-leading brain-computer interface (BCI) company and the first unicorn among all BCI companies in the world. Their technology has been applied in multiple fields to help people with different needs, from neurological diseases like ADHD, Alzheimer's, and Autism, to prostheses that help people with disabilities regain control over their body. For his contributions to the field of BCI, he was awarded the “35 Innovators under 35” by MIT Technology Review. He was also selected as one of the “Global Young Leaders 2023” by the World Economic Forum and "40 Under 40" list of business elites by Fortune China.

王振耀教授是北京师范大学中国公益研究院理事长、哈佛大学肯尼迪政府学院公共管理硕士、北京大学政府管理学院法学博士,2019年“爱心奖”获得者。他曾在国家民政部工作22年,曾任民政部基层政权司代司长、救灾救济司司长、社会福利和慈善事业促进司司长,为普及中国农村直接选举、建立城乡最低生活保障作出了重要贡献,并推动建立了孤儿津贴、老年人高龄津贴等多项基本社会福利制度。2010年,北京师范大学聘任王振耀教授创建中国公益研究院并担任院长。
Dr. Wang Zhenyao is the Board Chairman of the Beijing Normal University China Philanthropy Research Institute and the Founding President of China Global Philanthropy Institute. He holds a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University and a doctorate degree from Peking University. He has been awarded the 14th "Compassion Award" in 2019. Dr. Wang also helms the Beijing Normal University China Philanthropy Research Institute (CPRI), which he helped found in 2010. Under Dr. Wang's leadership, CPRI has become a leading philanthropy think-tank, which drives national discourse on China's social services and charitable sector. CPRI also provides professional philanthropy consulting services and has completed a number of influential projects related to charity law and child welfare. Dr. Wang previously worked for over 22 years at China's Ministry of Civil Affairs (MOCA) where he was instrumental in launching several renowned national policies including direct village elections and the country's urban/rural minimum welfare social safety net system. While at MOCA, Dr. Wang also focused on expanding social security benefits to the country's most vulnerable, reforming the national welfare system to provide allowances and greater support to orphans and senior citizens.
