Social Innovation for Educational Equity Initiative
(Learn to Change the World)”,让更多的孩子有接触到优质教育资源的机会。
The Social Innovation for Educational Equity Panel focused on solutions to the problem of educational equity. We invited Teach For China, PEER, and Project Volunteer Online to share their practical experiences and reflections. In addition, this year our panel doesn't just stay on the discussion level. We also launched a down-to-earth project “Dream Mentor”in collaboration with Teach For China, in hope to put into practice what we have discussed in the forum and communicate espoused values we earned at Harvard. Starting small, we hope to practice the motto of Harvard Graduate School of Education, “Learn to Change the World,” by giving more children access to quality educational resources. Many questions would be discussed in our panel: What is the current situation of rural education? Where are the pain points? How to use remote technology to empower this field? We are also looking forward to your questions! Join us on April 9 for a deep and heart-to-heart conversation!

Project Volunteer Online uses online platform to provide real-time remote teaching for primary schools in rural China, to address the issue of shortage of local teachers. Over the past 6 years, we have built remote classrooms in 50 village schools providing more than 200 real-time interactive classes for more than 2,500 children every week remotely.
